About Jon Paul

Jon Paul Crimi - breathe with JP - breathwork classes - breathwork teacher training

Originally from Boston, in his early 20s, Jon Paul Crimi moved to Los Angeles and quickly became one of the most sought after Celebrity Trainers and Sober Coaches in the Country. Unexpectedly, he found himself in a breathwork class and had a massive transformation that first time. Knowing he had to share this technique, he not only began teaching breathwork, but developed his own unique style and quickly began selling out breathwork classes all over Los Angeles.

What makes Jon Paul Crimi stand apart is his east coast no-nonsense approach. He has taken the “New Agey” part out of breathwork and both companies and corporations are filling his calendar. CEOs and the Forbes set have found themselves in his classes and have hired him to teach breathwork to all their employees. Jon Paul has broadened his classes into customized workshops and corporate retreats of all sizes all over the country.

Jon Paul believes there is no one who can’t benefit from this practice and he has the Olympians, Oscar, Emmy and Grammy winners to prove it. Witnessing people visibly transform, often after just one breathwork session, is why he greets each day excited to turn people towards their most authentic selves and he has made it his life’s work to reach as many people as possible.

He has been the pioneer of university courses such as Spirits & Spirituality in Japanese Film, Contemporary Japanese Poetry, and Japanese Food Culture.

About The Travel Retreat

Join me for breathwork sessions in Japan! One of the coolest places in the world, with its love of beauty, commitment to daily foodgasms, and stuningly rich culture, I’ve long wanted to get deep with Japan and share the experience with my breathwork community.

So – I’m teaming up with my friend, Jordan Smith, who happens to also be a UCLA faculty member in Japanese Studies and a documentary producer. Jordan will be taking us to Japan, curating the trip, interpreting during tavel experiences, and offering pre-trip seminars to deepen your encounter with Japan.

Japan’s high degree of spiritual awareness, passion for sustaining a beautiful place to live, rich culture, and insanely delicious food all make it the perfect place to reset, refresh, dig deep, and discover something truly new. Japan’s way of doing life is conducive to health in so many ways, from walkable cities to locally-sourced foods, to the mix of Zen versatility and humor with solid values for just being a decent, caring human.

We are also going to seriously EAT. Jordan is a 10-year local in Japan, and produced 3 masterclasses with leading Japanese chefs – so will be making damn sure we dine on the mix of locals-only hidden gems and the “must eat” meals of UNESCO Cultural Heritage “washoku” cuisine. The food itself can be a meditation, and we’ll calibrate our bodies and tastebuds to cuisine traditionally evolved to draw out the actual flavor of each ingredient.

We’ll unplug from phones, walk the city and some easy mountain paths, and take a journey both through an awesome country and to a new vista in your life. Each day will feature an evolving succesion of Breathwork Workshops, combining focused breathwork with writings and reflections both into your own self and on the experience that Japan brings you.

$5500 covers all hotels, Japan transportation, all meals (3 per day), and all activities (breathwork – obviously! – calligraphy, tea ceremony, onsen (hotspring) soak, sightseeing, temple & shrine visits and more). Airfare is separate.

First 5 people to sign up will receive a $500 discount.

Non-refundable deposits of $800 due by January 15th 2025, with the balance due February 28th 2025.

(If you’d like to create a longer trip, Jordan will share a pre-trip seminar, which will include travel tips for extending your time in a country truly worth spending at least one full lifetime…)

Who Should Attend this Retreat?

If you’re ready to unleash a profound transformation in your life and create memories that will last a lifetime, this retreat is for you. Whether you’re a dedicated participant in Jon Paul’s teacher training programs, looking to further your personal growth, or you’re captivated by the potential of Breathwork and eager to explore self-care and self-love, this retreat is designed to fulfill your aspirations. Please be aware that, while this retreat is not a teacher training, if you’ve previously engaged in Jon Paul’s teacher training, you’re welcome to join for additional transformative work, though some exercises from the teacher training may be revisited during the retreat.

There are no prerequisites for this retreat, although it is recommended that you try this style of Breathwork with Jon Paul at least once before signing up. You can participate in classes via Zoom every Sunday to acquaint yourself with the practice. And, it’s essential to note that you should know what you’re getting yourself into, as this retreat promises a profound and challenging journey of self-discovery and transformation.

Who Should Not Attend this Retreat?

This retreat is not for individuals who are sensitive to occasional colorful language, as the hosts’ authenticity may include occasional swear words. Please note: This retreat focuses on self-transformation and is not a teacher certification training. The days, itinerary, activities, and workshops may be adjusted depending on circumstances; flexibility is key to our experience.

Creating an Intimate Experience

To ensure a deeply personal and transformative experience, we have intentionally limited this retreat to no more than 20 participants. This intimate group size allows Jon Paul and Jordan to dedicate time to connect with and assist each participant personally. It fosters a unique environment for shared growth and profound connections among like-minded individuals.

Due to the smaller, more intimate nature of this retreat, spaces are expected to fill up rapidly. In the event of a high demand for single supplements, the number of participants may be further reduced to maintain the intimate atmosphere.
